Journal #2

If I were Barton, there are a few ways that I would try to go about this difficult situation. One way might be trying to get rid of useless equipment in the EDS. There probably isn't very much equipment to get rid of, he could have thrown out food and gotten more then we landed in Woden. They also could have gotten rid of clothes.
Another way, although not ideal, would be to grow a pair and throw her out. I realize that it would be harder for Baton to jettison a woman, but if he were to sacrifice himself, then she wouldn't know how are land the EDS and not only kill herself, but the other people who need the serum to survive. So it really comes down to killing one life, or killing two camps, Barton, and Marilyn. Either way, she is dead.

Blue eyes as a symbol of her innocents

Woden is an allusion to Oden

One form of foreshadow was in the beginning the narrator was explaining that they only load the EDS with enough fuel to go there and back and if any stowaways were found then they must be jettisoned into space or they ship would run out of fuel.

My favorite line was, "It clicked as if locked in place and he jerked down the red lever."
It is my favorite because he made the right choice in killing her and not sacrificing himself.

  1. Interesting choice of symbol - blue eyes.

If you had them throw away their clothes you might turn Barton into a pervert. Especially, if he then jettisoned her.
